HHS Proposes Final Rule on TANF (2/8/2008)

On Tuesday, February 5th, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) posted a final rule regarding reauthorization of the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program. This final rule implements changes to TANF required by the Deficit Reduction Act (DRA) of 2005 (Pub. L. 109–171). The DRA reauthorized the TANF program through fiscal year 2010 with a renewed focus on work, program integrity, and strengthening families through healthy marriage promotion and responsible fatherhood.
