OESE Invites Applications for New Award (2/8/2008)

On Monday, February 4th, the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE) at the U.S. Department of Education (ED) posted a notice inviting applications for new awards using fiscal year 2007 funding for Enhanced Assessment Instruments. The purpose of this program is to enhance the quality of assessment instruments and systems used by States for measuring the achievement of all students. ED estimates that $7.5 million is available for this program, with an individual award running between $500,000 and $2,000,000. Eligible applicants include state educational agencies (SEAs) as defined in section 9101(41) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act and consortia of such SEAs.
